Mailsorting – Saving you on your postage delivery costs
At Character Mailing, we aim to get all clients the cheapest postage rate possible. We have up to date mailsort software to achieve this. We use various couriers like Royal Mail, Whistl, OnePost, Secured Mail and Citipost, when mailsorting your data.
The mailsort services we offer are:
Mailmark – This is the cheapest method of postage and applies to mailing with 4000 or more addresses. A mailmark barcode and postage information is applied to your mailpiece for this service. OCR (Optical Character Recognition) – This is very similar to mailmark except the mailpiece address is scanned by the courier. There are specific fonts and font sizes that have to be used for this service. High Sort – Sometimes for various reasons, maybe you have a very large/very thick mailpiece, Mailmark/OCR cannot be used. High Sort is used instead. You still get a significant postage discount with High Sort but a lower discount than Mailmark/OCR. Underneath the High Sort umbrella are Publishing Mail for publications and Subscription Mail for the like of magazines and periodicals. Advertising Mail – You can get a further postage discount if your mailing qualifies for Advertising Mail. Go to https://www.royalmailtechnical.com/User_Guide.cfm and download the user guides to see if your mailing qualifies for an Advertising Mail discount.
Presentation – You get different discounts if you present your mailing in Trays, Bags or Bundles. The preferred method is Trays, which is the cheapest. Go to https://www.royalmailtechnical.com/User_Guide.cfm and download the user guides to see if your mailing qualifies for Trays, Bags or Bundles.
