It all began in the mid 1980’s!

The current Character Mailing operation has a history going back 30 plus years and was born out of the former Vernons Pools Empire – based around the Aintree and Bootle areas.

Character Mailing Services Ltd, has now existed twice. The original was named after a Management Buy Out of Vernons, successfully trading for several decades before itself being purchased by the Magnadata group in 2011.

The business was then rebranded Character Media, reflecting its offering of print and mail fulfilment, the new business and its newly acquired print sites were part of this group up until 2014, when the decision was made to split the business offerings and sell the mailing division.

The mailing/digital division was purchased in February 2014 by the current management team, and reverted back to its original name of Character Mailing Services Ltd.

Character Mailing is very proud of its history and the people it employs. Our staff stay with us too – some as far back as the early Vernons Pools days. We have a wealth of experience in our teams and we believe it is this expertise, coupled with our investment in modern machinery and technology – that gives us the best chance to succeed in the future in very competitive markets.
